When do I get the free Claude Pro subscription?

The Anthropic team processes access codes in batches every Friday. After submitting the check-in form, you’ll receive an email with your Claude Pro access code. Please allow up to one week for processing.

How do I sign up for CBC?

Use the CBC mailing list sign-up link to join and stay updated on upcoming events.

What’s the difference between claude.ai and platform.claude.com? Which one do I use for the check-in form?

  • claude.ai — This is the consumer chat interface. You do not need the Org ID from here.
  • platform.claude.com — This is the Anthropic API console (developer platform). You should get your Org ID from platform.claude.com to fill out the check-in form.

Which email address can I use?

You must use a .edu school email — either @columbia.edu or @gsb.columbia.edu.

How do I find my Org ID?

  1. Go to platform.claude.com
  2. Create an account using your school email (.edu)
  3. When prompted, create an Individual Org
  4. Once logged in, click Settings at the bottom of the left sidebar
  5. Your Org ID will be displayed on the settings page — copy and paste it into the check-in form

I’ve been waiting over a week and still haven’t received my Claude Pro access code

Try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check your inbox and spam/junk folder for an email from Anthropic
  2. Verify the information you submitted — the most common mistake is entering your claude.ai Org ID instead of your platform.claude.com Org ID
  3. Resubmit the check-in form with the corrected Org ID from platform.claude.com
  4. Wait one more week for the next Friday batch processing
  5. If you’re still not receiving anything after resubmitting, please join the next CBC event so we can help troubleshoot in person

Make sure your account is not on an active Pro or Max plan. In order to use the free access code, you need to:

  1. Cancel your existing Pro or Max subscription
  2. Wait for the current billing period to expire
  3. Once you’re back on the free plan, apply the access code to redeem your free Claude Pro subscription

How long do we get Claude Pro for?

You get 6 months of free Claude Pro (expires on August 2026).
